Enterprise Data Insight (EDI) is committed to equality, diversity and fostering an inclusive workplace culture. Our organisation is built on people, and we aim to create an environment that is responsive to different cultures, backgrounds and perspectives in all interactions with employees, customers, visitors, suppliers, partners, stakeholders and the wider communities in which we operate.

We value diversity and consider it essential to business success and integral to our company values. Every employee has the right to be treated with respect and dignity throughout their employment with EDI and must not be subjected to discrimination in any form. We do not tolerate bullying, harassment, exclusion or victimisation under any circumstances.

Equality and diversity enhance creativity, enable broader thinking and deliver tangible benefits such as increased productivity, improved performance, stronger employee retention, expanded skills, improved understanding of customer needs and a more positive company reputation.

EDI strives to exceed the minimum requirements set out in legislation. We will actively promote a culture that embraces diversity, inclusion and equality of opportunity.

This charter sets out EDI’s commitment to equality and diversity, the steps we will take to implement this, and the expectations we place on all employees to ensure our values are embedded in everyday behaviour.

EDI is committed to ensuring that equality, diversity and inclusion are embedded within our culture and reflected in our people, behaviours and decision-making.

We commit to:

  • Ensuring equal opportunity for all eligible individuals seeking employment or advancement at EDI based solely on ability, qualifications and aptitude for the role.

  • Providing opportunities for all sections of the community and fostering a workplace where difference is recognised and valued.

  • Creating a respectful environment in which every individual feels valued, included and treated fairly, regardless of gender, gender reassignment, marital or civil partnership status, race or ethnic origin, religion or belief, political opinion, disability, caring responsibilities, sexual orientation or age.

  • Ensuring everyone works in alignment with EDI’s purpose, values, behaviours and Code of Conduct, which highlight the inclusive behaviours expected of all employees and contractors.

  • Addressing any inappropriate behaviour such as harassment, bullying, discrimination or victimisation and encouraging all employees to speak up about concerns, in line with our zero-tolerance policy.

  • Providing guidance, training and support to help employees understand and deliver on our diversity and inclusion commitments.

  • Setting measurable inclusion goals and taking proactive steps to achieve the aims of this charter.

EDI will develop an overarching Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy to put our vision into practice.

We will take the following actions to demonstrate our commitments:

  • Continuously review and benchmark employment policies and practices to ensure they reflect our equality, diversity and inclusion values, and eliminate discriminatory practices.

  • Ensure the principles of this charter are embedded across employment practices and standard terms and conditions.

  • Remove obstacles faced by underrepresented groups at key points in career development and progression.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and set clear behavioural expectations for all employees.

  • Provide accessible policies and training on equality, diversity and inclusion to all employees and managers.

  • Raise awareness of behaviours that are inappropriate or unacceptable, including harassment, bullying, discrimination and victimisation, and reinforce our zero-tolerance approach.

  • Build and support employee networks that reflect the diverse needs of our workforce and promote understanding and shared learning.

  • Create safe, collaborative spaces where colleagues can connect with others who share similar lived experiences, with these networks open to all employees for awareness and personal development.

  • Make reasonable adjustments for disabled employees wherever practical.

  • Ensure internal communications and materials reflect the diversity of our organisation.

  • Ensure decisions relating to employment, training, promotion and career development are based solely on an individual’s ability and merit.

  • Recognise that a diverse workforce improves both employee and business performance.

  • Continuously improve our data reporting on equality, diversity and inclusion, identify areas for improvement and implement targeted action plans.

  • Advance a long-term strategy that supports and strengthens equality, diversity and inclusion across Enterprise Data Insight.

Everyone at EDI has a responsibility to ensure we uphold our values and embed our inclusive ethos in everyday interactions.

We expect all employees to:

  • Familiarise themselves with this charter and associated policies, and act in accordance with EDI’s commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.

  • Treat colleagues, customers, suppliers and all external stakeholders with dignity and respect, ensuring the workplace is free from any discrimination, harassment, bullying or victimisation.

  • Be aware of how their behaviour may impact others and act sensitively and professionally at all times.

  • Work collaboratively with managers to build and sustain an inclusive working environment where every individual’s contribution is valued.

  • Complete all required training related to equality, diversity and inclusion.

  • Speak up if they witness or experience behaviour that breaches EDI’s values or expected standards regarding equality, diversity and inclusion.
